DESCRIPTION:ICCD Celebrations \nYOAI organizes education for health workers in the form of virtual meeting. We collaborate with communities Nurses Associations and Pediatrician Association-Hematology Oncology Coordinating Work Unit) which was attended around 1700 nurses and 500 pediatricians from all over Indonesia. \nIn the meantime the Family Supporting Group of YOAI created a virtual Art Show for patients of children with Cancer. They give speeches\, compose\, and read their own poems\, offer heartfelt prayers\, sing happily and they paint batik on cloth\, bags and even t-shirts that can be used everyday. Their expressions of gratitude were dedicated for their doctors and nurses.

SUMMARY:International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD) Event
DESCRIPTION:On February 2022 and in line with the 2nd year of ICCD global campaign\, MAHAK installed a tree of life for patients\, their families\, and the medical team at its hospital’s waiting room for two weeks. \nThe campaign of #throughyourhands was implemented through a tree on which all children and families wrote their messages of appreciation and hope on the forms which were designed based on the information on ICCD Tree of Life website to facilitate their participation. \nEvery day\, on average\, more than 30 individuals were being exposed to this campaign and 185 messages were published on ICCD Tree of Life website.

SUMMARY:YAI's efforts to save Indonesian children from cancer🎗️
DESCRIPTION:In commemoration of the ICCD 2022\, YAI intensely held a webinar on cancer in children via Zoom for primary healthcare center medical personnel in Eastern Indonesia on 10 Feb in Southeast Sulawesi\, 17 Feb in Central Sulawesi\, 24 Feb in Gorontalo\, 7 Apr in Maluku\, 14 Apr in North Maluku. \nThe goal is that children suspected of having cancer can be found early\, referred for further examination and if positive for cancer\, the child is immediately treated so that they can be saved from cancer. This effort is in line with the ICCD 2022 theme which is “Better survival” is achievable #throughyourhands. \nToday\, April 21\, 2022 YAI is holding a webinar for the Province of Papua\, which is located in the Eastern Region of Indonesia. Papua is the 32nd province and in May 2022 YAI will be present in West Papua Province and will continue to expand sustainably to all provinces (a total of 34 provinces in Indonesia). \nWe hope that by joining hands together\, the target of 60% of the survival rate for children with cancer\, which was initiated by WHO through the GICC program in 2030\, can also be achieved in Indonesia.

DESCRIPTION:Zagreb Electric Tram and the Firefly marked the International Childhood cancer day by placing flags with the Firefly logo and a golden ribbon on trams. The goal of this year’s action was to raise citizens’ awareness of malignant diseases in childhood and send a message that the fight does not end by leaving the hospital. After returning to their home environment\, children and young people very often face various prejudices and discrimination\, while from a psychological perspective they deal with fears and lots of emotions that arose from the healing process.

SUMMARY:HOPE INTERNATIONAL CHILDHOOD CANCER DAY AWARENESS PROGRAM\, KERALA 2022
DESCRIPTION:Our International Childhood Cancer Day public awareness campaign at Downtown mall\, Thalassery municipality\, Kerala\, India on Feb 15 helped to spread the message to the general public. \nHOPE Social Workers and Volunteers collaborated to organize a beautiful evening with support from Malabar Cancer Center\, Thalassery. Volunteers conducted public awareness campaigns at Downtown Mall premises by performing flash mobs\, distributing awareness leaflets\, releasing hydrogen balloons\, and motorbike rallies with awareness placards in English and Malayalam. \nIn Kannur district\, Kerala\, India\, we organized the program at Capital Mall\, with support received from Malabar Cancer Center Hospital\, Thalassery. Smt P.P Divya\, Kannur district panchayat president\, inaugurated the function. \nThe volunteers conducted public awareness campaigns through flash mobs\, distributed awareness leaflets\, released hydrogen balloons\, and organized various other awareness activities during the day. \nMalabar Cancer Center Hospital Doctors and staff’s\, delegates from The Indian academy of pediatrics\, Thalassery\, officials from the Police department\, and Volunteers from different organizations were part of the campaign.

SUMMARY:Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon Mobilizes all resources on ICCD 2022 to raise awareness engaging all stakeholders and beneficiaries
DESCRIPTION:February 15\, a landmark day in the calendar of the Childhood Cancer for the CCCL and millions of children around the globe. The CCCL like every year spreads education to create better understanding and raise awareness. The campaign also used the social media to reach more sectors of the community. Contents of both means of awareness about the disease\, diagnoses\, types\, treatments\, and a call for action. In 2021 the CCCL in collaboration with Rotaract Lebanon\, Lebanese Oncology Initiative Group\, church groups and social media\, virtually and in person conducted sessions that included facts\, communication skills and above subjects. \n4 awareness sessions targeting young and professionals reaching all sectors of the society. Future leaders of the community. Panel discussions and survivors’ testimonies with psychologists about dealing with families in times of stress. As a token of appreciation to health workers\, the CCCL distributed to its partners oncology nurses gifts of 55 succulents on behalf of the children cared by them. The social media contained facts\, reports\, patients’ activities\, visits to patients in partner hospitals\, messages from WHO\, CCI and SIOP and events organized by CCCL includes participation in the ICCD “Tree of Life” reaching 60000\, with 15000 interactions. DESCRIPTION:Association P.A.V.E.L.team organizes events in two major hospitals with oncopediatrics wards (from Bucharest). \nWe shall have an exhibition of paintings of some of them\, which will be presented also on our Facebook pages\, we shall launch in front of friends and medical staff a novel written by a young survivor\, Alma Nicola (under the guidance of Prof. Magda Jianu)\, together with presentations about ICCD coming from the Manager of Oncological Institute\, PhD Bogdan C. Tanase\, from the chief of oncopediatrics ward\, PhD Monica Dragomir and Olga Cridland\, the president of the Association P.A.V.E.L. \nAlso\, we shall offer a treat and presents to all children hospitalized in these two wards\, encouraging them to color the Tree of Life.

SUMMARY:Donation to Department of Hematology and Oncology - Children's Hospital\, Zagreb
DESCRIPTION:On the day of the International Childhood cancer day\, thank to our donators we handed over a commendable donation to the Department of Hematology and Oncology “Dr. Mladen Čepulić”. Donation consists of two baby car seats for the Department vehicle. One seat (eggshell) is for babies up to 6 months old\, while the other is for children from 6 months to 3 years old. We are very happy about this donation\, since children in treatment are often transported from the Institute itself to the Children’s Hospital. New seats will certainly increase child safety.

SUMMARY:Awareness raising action
DESCRIPTION:On February 15th\, 2022 Firefly association organized awareness raising action near main square in Zagreb. Volunteers\, survivors and employees were busting the myths about childhood cancer and answering questions from citizens. They promoted the vision\, mission and goal of the Association which is to improve quality of life\, social inclusion\, rights of children and young people with malignant diseases and their families. Through raising awareness\, we are building a society that understands the problems of all those children and their families.

DESCRIPTION:“THE BLANKET OF YOUR DREAMS”. \nWe send a message to the world\, how children with cancer see life\, from their situation. \nOur children “warriors” in the fight against cancer\, created a drawing that expresses their emotions or desires\, hope and desire to keep fighting\, to achieve their goals\, their love to mom\, dad and family\, medical staff\, pets and good people they met along the way. \nThe blanket is the symbol of shelter and protection\, so we have also chosen as a symbol of APNACC\, protection and care with life expectancy. \nThe winning or most significant drawing will be shown on February 15 at the event to commemorate the day of childhood cancer connection. DESCRIPTION:Aroh – Giving Hope & RCC Raipur Team conducted the event on the occasion of International Childhood Cancer Day\, we made children to wear yellow headcaps\, organized games which entertained the children and made a Tree of Life on a white sheet on the wall with their colorful handprints. Gave them papers where have written experience and gratitude and decorated the notes on the board\, then at the end of the program gave them gifts\, chocolates\, and snacks. \nAfter attending the event\, the children and their families learned how to help children recover from cancer with the help of doctors and their team and encouraged them to maintain their brewery

DESCRIPTION:This year’s ICCD event in the Department of Pediatric Hematology Oncology & BMT in SJMCH focused on the very theme of ICCD\, 2022\, that’s to thank the service providers. As a token of gratitude\, our kids distributed succulent plants to doctors\, nurses\, cleaning staff\, and other non-medical team members. DESCRIPTION:Firefly Association held a webinar for the “KosaRi” Medical Students’ Association from Rijeka. Focus was on mental health with an emphasis on the psychological health of children and families during active treatment. By sensitizing the medical students to this topic\, it is possible to draw attention to the strong spirit of children\, youth and their families\, but also the need for systematic and appropriate help and support for the whole family during treatment.
